These eliminations just keep getting harder and harder. In this match we said goodbye to Lentenor - a full brother to famed Barbaro - and Revolutionary - a third place finisher in the Kentucky Derby with over $1.3 million in winnings!
Eliminated Round 3 Match 1 - Lentenor (right)
Lentenor's sire, Dynaformer, had a reputation for being a very difficult and almost mean horse to handle, but Lentenor did not inherit that disposition. Meeting him in person he was super laid back and even almost a little shy, and as you can hear in the "Barbaro's Family" video below, he was described that way even when he was a young colt. He is an impressive athletic powerhouse, and with Freja's huge fan base, I'm sure she'd love having Lentenor by her side as they both pose for the paparazzi at red carpet events.
Eliminated Round 3 Match 2 - Revolutionary (left)
Revolutionary is a horse that we recommended to me by the experts at WinStar, so that says a lot about the potential of a foal by him out of Freja. Not only was he an impressive racehorse, but this is what the team at WinStar Farm had to say about a mating between him and Freja, "The reason why I landed on this mating was because Lady Mcjazz is out of a half-sister to a graded stakes horse by Yonaguska who hails from the same sire line as Revolutionary. I think this is good evidence that this relationship works."
Additionally, even an owner of one of the other stallion's I'm considering thought that Revolutionary was a good choice - which says a LOT about the integrity of that stallion owner for him to suggest the potential of a horse other than one of his own. He said, "This is going to sound weird coming from a Stallion owner but the horse you should breed to is Revolutionary. He brings in the Cherokee Run she needs as well as the AP Indy. That is a combination of the two best runners in the female family. Compare your resulting foal by Revolutionary to Americanus. Think you will like what you see."
Americanus is the half-brother to Freja's dam - the same horse that the experts at WinStar alluded to in their correspondence with me.
